Family
therapy
Families are the foundation of love, support, and connection. Navigating family dynamics, conflicts, and misunderstandings can be challenging.
Family therapy focuses on the entire family unit to help the family work through difficult situations and improve their relationships. Enhancing communication, resolving conflict, and learning how to best support each other are common tactics. The family is viewed as a whole and each member gets the opportunity to express their thoughts and feelings towards the situation.
When each member of the family feels supported & works within their strengths, positive changes within the family unit will flourish.
Family Therapy may include:
Talking about each person’s hopes and goals
Sharing about each person's perceptions and experiences
Enhancing healthy communication, boundaries setting, and reflective listening skills
Shifting from blaming each other to understanding each person’s point of view
Clarify each person’s values, beliefs, and strengths
Learning about the impact of words and behaviors on other members of the family
Who is family therapy for?
Family therapy can benefit all different types of families and family goals. Family therapy can be helpful for families regardless of ages or dynamics. Common goals or needs of family therapy may include those who are:
